Census source and attribution

This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. Business Pulse is an independent service. Official BTOS pages and downloads remain the authoritative source for Census Bureau statistics.

Derived analysis

Business Pulse Momentum, rankings, direction labels, drivers, comparisons and screening flags are calculations created by Business Pulse. They are not Census Bureau measures, probabilities, forecasts or official significance determinations. Source values are kept separate from these derived outputs wherever practical.

No professional advice

The site is provided for general informational and research purposes only. Nothing on the site is investment, legal, accounting, tax, financial, economic forecasting or other professional advice, and no decision should be made solely from a Business Pulse score or ranking.

Accuracy, revisions and availability

We aim to reproduce source values faithfully and to label transformations transparently, but survey estimates can be suppressed or revised, source/API availability can change, and software can contain errors. We do not guarantee that the site is complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free. If a value is material to a decision, verify it against the linked official Census source and methodology.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties and the operator is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on the site's informational or derived analytical outputs. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Changes

The data source, methodology, score construction and site features may change as the Census source or this service evolves. Material methodology changes will be described on the Methodology page.
